Chess in the City : Proctor’s Monday 11:30 – 1:00. We had a quiet but solid start of “Chess in the City” with the Capital District’s highest rated player – Deepak Aaron in attendance alongwith scholastic players. Also, we had some from the local businesses with different playing levels along with beginners enthusiastically coming out to check their brain skills! So, summer is hot with “Chess in the City” in front of Proctors under the marquee on Mondays! If you or somebody whom you know would like to attend, please pass the word and come on out to support this unique positive activity in downtown Schenectady during the summer! The activity goes on throughout the summer on Mondays from 11:30am to 1:00pm in front of Proctors – 432 State Street, Schenectady, NY 12305 till August 27th. RPI Rating Improvement: July 21, August 11. ( June 20) A talented crew of twenty participated in the Fund Raiser for The Right Move at RPI on June 20. Rochester talent took the top prize as Jeffrey La Comb swept all three games for the $100 prize for first place. Nine players tied for second and received $6.00 each. Look for new format to attract more of the younger crowd, with trophy prizes for the lower section for first through fifth place.
