Dec. 2 Chess – From India, With Love

Come visit Exotic India on Dec. 2 at Carl B Auditorium Music Hall, 78 Washington Ave., Schenectady Community College as Mohan Gavvagi presents the talented youth, ages 7-12, in song, dance and many performances, including promoting chess, to give a positive experience through the Asian Indian community. (New USCF ratings for Dec. arrived Nov. 21 and include up to 3rd Friday of Nov., 2012) Deepti Aaron went undefeated to capture the rated USCF section, while Collin Johnson (Menands 2) won 5 games to capture first place in the unrated section.

The Association for Kids of Indian Origin (AKIO) is open to welcoming the Capital District Chess community to participate in this event. A four-round chess tournament with games at 10, 11, 12, and 1   will be held, All play four games.  No one is eliminated.  Entry for the chess tournament is free, but a donation ($5.00) to AKAIO is suggested.  Ashok Aaron strongly suggests support for this important organization and the work of Mr. Gavvagi.   Both rated USCF and unrated sections will be held.  Registration with brjohn@juno.com so far:  (Also, Sign in at tournament 9:00-9:40) Prize: Trophy to top players depending on number of entrants.
