New Awards (Notes from Board Meeting Oct.6)

In recognition of the work and effort new chessplayers bring to the tournaments while they struggle against more experienced chess players two awards are now offered: First, those playing in less than three tournaments can earn a medal for 2 points. Second, after five tournaments (in January) a trophy will be awarded in each section for the most cumulative points earned by a chessplayer new to our tournaments.  (There is a minimum of three tournament competitions to qualify for this award. )
